The water-suction rinse for regular net maintenance
The extraQt® process

extraQt® is ideal for maintaining clean pipes in the drinking water supply – efficiently and in a resource-saving manner.

The extraQt® process is used wherever light deposits, rust water or mobilizable corrosion films can disrupt operation. It is ideal for the regular flushing of drinking water networks and rinsing in accordance with DVGW worksheet W 291, keeping pipes clean, water quality stable and operational safety maintained in the long term – without any chemical additives.

The advantages of extraQt®:

  • High daily output (5-8 km), fast work progress

  • Effective discharge of the easily mobilized corrosion films/deposits

  • Required drag voltage is demonstrably achieved

  • No damage to surface layers

  • Reduced water consumption due to acceleration effects, only approx. 1.5 times the line capacity

  • No rework such as venting required

  • Comprehensive documentation through parameter recording and digital photos

  • Only short-term supply interruption and limited disruption to consumers

Effective cleaning through targeted flow

This is how our extraQt® process works

extraQt®: That means an extra amount of Q in an extra short time t.

The process is based on the effect of the targeted build-up of the so-called drag or wall shear stress of the moving water flow and its acceleration. This is achieved by using an effective suction pump at the outlet hydrant that is variable over a wide range of capacities. Due to the associated increase in the water withdrawal volume, the drag stress increases dynamically and thus develops its release force. Corrosion films and deposits such as iron-III compounds are reliably and quickly removed.

Optimally calculated
Of course, extraQt®, our water-suction flushing system, also uses all usable parameters for online calculation of the optimum trailing voltage and control of the voltage peaks: nominal pipe diameter and material, topographical pipe layout and length of the flushing section. And, of course, everything is precisely documented for you.

Extra-large flushing areas
Depending on local conditions, we can process up to 1.5 km of flushing sections for DN 80 to 100, and up to 5 km in one piece for DN 125 and above. Our technology currently makes it possible to flush nominal diameters up to DN 300, and in some cases even up to DN 400, with extraQt®. Success is determined by factors such as hydraulic conditions, possible withdrawal quantities, topography and network conditions. In local networks, we can provide daily services from 5 to 8 km.

The diagram shows the flushing process with the extraQt® unit: water is taken from the mains via a hydrant and standpipe, fed through the mobile unit and reintroduced at a defined flow rate. This creates a targeted drag-out effect that loosens and removes deposits in the pipe.

In addition to extraQt® cleaning, we also offer a condition-based network evaluation, which enables us to give you a very simple overview of the condition of your drinking water networks.
